I just call these 'tall purples'. They're common everywhere, here in Ontario, at any rate - I don't know about the southern part of the continent: Anybody know the real name of this wild one?

It's either a Campanula or an Adenophora...it can difficult to tell the difference for most people beacause they look so similar.

Bell flower or capanula or adenophora. OK - I'm going with that - bell flower, I think I've been told that before, so that's most likely what it is. I'd love to get a whole bunch of them together in one place. They're just lovely when they bloom. Thanks, Kenny & Alan. (Kenny, do you have a lot of them up in Don Mills?)

I can't say a whole lot, but there are some which are growing along a wooded area. My neighbour has some which have sprawled into our yard, I'm not complaining! If you want, I can collect seeds, and maybe send you the roots (or tubers or whatever you call them) once the green dies off
