The bumble bees, hummingbird and an insect I call 'hover dood' were all over my bee balm & coneflowers last evening. Heres a couple pics of the bees. :ding:
The hummer is camera shy. I havent managed to get one of a hover dood yet.
Wrennie, nice to see you have some bees. I was so short on those critters last year that I had to hand pollinate everything and this year I have lots of the in my greenhouse.
I planted some borage just outside of my greenhouse, it's supposed to attract bees and it's working or something is.
Kindness is a language the deaf can hear and the blind can see.
It must be the bloom color. They were all over the purple b.balm but none on the red, which was fine with the hummer. I've seen a few on my borage, which is self sown on the left of my veggie garden, but theres less borage than there is purple balm.
I like those pics Wrennie and I'm glad I didn't miss them on here.
We have too many bumblebees here.....big ones...maybe they're carpenter bees...lots of wasps too.
I have a thing against wasps, ever since one flew up my jeans leg and stung me up near my butt and I almost stripped in the yard to get it out of there!
