I think it's a datura.....it's the very first bloom from the plant and I'm thrilled to see such a pretty flower.....I have a few more planted in my flower garden that I'm waiting to bloom too......It's really cool to see all of the variety.....
[img][/img] this was hubby's garden for many years, but this year he decided to let me have it for all of my seed swap flowers and I'm having a blast with all of the new and different kinds of flowers.....

He figures the more seeds I plant the less I buy....lolHe's absolutely right, I only bought one tray of zinnias this year.....as compared toabout 10 trays other years..... Hey Charlie!!

I was looking for your name all over to see if you were still coming here ( it's Shirl)! I love that flower, what is it? I have not really started landscaping yet, because we still have to build the garage. I have however planted a few things that I will move, when I can actually start land scaping.

I have daisy's in bloom, burgundy and white columbine, munstead and spanish lavender, rose campion and my butterfly bush has buds on it. They are all still baby plants but coming along nicely. I will move them to their perm home in the spring ( provided I have dirt by then lol)

Hi Shirl,

Glad to see you, I haven't talked to you in quite a while.....How have you been? I've been having a blast with all of my new flowers and plants this Summer. I have a huge variety of flowers planted this year, thanks to all of the awesome gardeners on here. I did the the Fall fling and spring fling swaps....Wow! I got sooo many different types......

If I can keep them all hydrated during the heat I'll be good to go.....

Glad to see you too!!

I will definately take you up on the seed offer, when I am ready to start things up! Thank you!!! I hear you loud and clear on the hydrating. I only have a few things in the ground, but my planters on the deck hit bone dry every day because of the heat. It is great that you got so many different plant seeds, your yard looks super!! You look pretty comfy in the pic hubby took of you

One nice thing about having a beginner, hostess the spring and fall seed exchanges is that I don't hold anything back. If I were better acquainted with them some of those fantastic looking plants would have been hard to resist.

I keep the hostess seed presents and the seeds were there was an excess.

I love that purple and white one. It is really cool.

It sounds like everyone is having fun with all of the flowers identified and those that aren't. I try to plant flowers that the humming birds will like and keep visiting. I have tried the feeders, but honestly I would rather plant flowers for them instead. I'm not diligent enough to clean the feeders as often as they suggest. We do have a pond , so there is water available for drinking. The birds use it a a birdbath too

I have alot of flowers I can identify and a few that I don't remember.....lol
I'll have to match them up with a picture..... I originally had everything tagged when planted, but.....that was in the beginning f spring abd thing have been moved around......lol
the castor bean plant is pretty interesting.....

[img][/img]

most of my flowers are getting big.....now I'm waiting til they bloom, some of them I'm really glad I planted in a big garden, otherwise they would be too big for my flowerbeds......

[img][/img] my cosmos seem to take their good sweet time to bloom......

Castor bean plants are supposed to help keep moles and voles out of your garden. Good to plant around a veggie garden. Deer dont like them so good for a back or side border to keep bambi out too. grin

it's just really cool. Has anyone else tried to grow it? And would I be able to successfully dry it with silica?

Do you have photos of cool plants?

I planted a bunch of those seeds, but I only got one plant though. I have to save the seeds this year to plat next year.....
I love saving the seeds for all types of plants.
Do you know how to save host seeds?
I know someone wanted them last year, but I only had the plants and they were much too expensive to ship, I seem to remember 18.00...

I spent my day edging my flower bed and raising them up a bit.

Nice looking beds there..Your edges are like mine, I dont put any thing around the ends of the beds..Easier to mow......
Now if your speaking of Hosta seeds..
egad
They are are problem to start...After I got some started last february, they are still only an inch tall.........Heavens they must take long.
I dont know how to pick them either.................The ones I have,(seeds) were from swapping.......
Now what is the pink flower with a butterfly on it ? Very nice looking.

I'll have to try saving the seeds from hostas. I thing someone from Singapore wanted them last year, I'll have to take a look in my notebook. I would like to try them from seeds, I know they transplant and sub-divide well. I have actually gotten to the point where I gave away about 100 hosta plants. They were large in size (15 "+) varigated. People were glad for them ;)

I was just out taking some more photos of things growing....

All of the plants in the "Garden" is from seed swaps.
Thanks to alot of people on this fine forum.

I have a red rose in bloom too.... [img][/img]

I have Hostas growing too, I was just wondering about starting them from seeds....as I always subdivide mine. But would it be possible to grow them from seeds?
