Yes Dodge it is a white moonflower datura!!! Aren't they just beautiful!!!!!!
Good for you!! When it goes to pod and still green cut it off and you'll get more blooms, Just put the pod on the soil where you want more to come up next year, eventually the pod will turn brown and dry up and crack open and there will be lot and lots of seeds inside!!!!!!!!

I dont want to feel bad, cause mine didnt grow.. I planted seeds, and dont think they grew .............. I think my germination rate in all seeds in 2007 , was probably 30%
Dodge.I like your BES vine.mines got lighter yellowed flowers than yours.Like your moonflower too.mines very slow from seed.the plant met a accident so didn't return.I think my double yellow got hid in the 4pms,or I set a container on it.
I will age ungracefully until I become an old woman in a small garden..doing whatever the Hell I want!

you have a double yellow of them? SOmeone else said theirs was lighter.......I like these ..
Dodge--I didn't know the Datura came in white! I bought a big-leafed plant at Wal-Mart last year. It had no label, but it had the most amazing double blooms that were purple on the outside, and white inside. They've come up volunteer this year. I did a web search forever trying to find out what the plant was. This is cool!!

Yes mine are volunteers too.. I might have seeds to that one up in my box I will let you know ....if you want them, or I will have plenty to spare later . Yes the first year daturas, I had the double purple one which looked like ruffles and It didnt return.........
They are cute.. Now they tell me Brugs are pretty like that, mine wont grow.. I had seeds to that .
I don't usually have much luck with seeds--thanks, though. If the seeds don't come up volunteer, they don't make it. So far, I have datura and moss rose volunteer. Oh, yeah, and tomatoes.
I'll save you some of the purple seed pods, if you want. I don't know if they'll bloom purple this year, I can hardly wait to find out!
Here are a couple of pictures I took last July. By the first freeze, the plant was 6 feet tall and 6 feet wide, covered in blooms.
