Hey Charlie!! I was looking for your name all over to see if you were still coming here ( it's Shirl)! I love that flower, what is it? I have not really started landscaping yet, because we still have to build the garage. I have however planted a few things that I will move, when I can actually start land scaping. I have daisy's in bloom, burgundy and white columbine, munstead and spanish lavender, rose campion and my butterfly bush has buds on it. They are all still baby plants but coming along nicely. I will move them to their perm home in the spring ( provided I have dirt by then lol) Shirl

Glad to see you too!! I will definately take you up on the seed offer, when I am ready to start things up! Thank you!!! I hear you loud and clear on the hydrating. I only have a few things in the ground, but my planters on the deck hit bone dry every day because of the heat. It is great that you got so many different plant seeds, your yard looks super!! You look pretty comfy in the pic hubby took of you

One nice thing about having a beginner, hostess the spring and fall seed exchanges is that I don't hold anything back. If I were better acquainted with them some of those fantastic looking plants would have been hard to resist. I keep the hostess seed presents and the seeds were there was an excess. I love that purple and white one. It is really cool.

It sounds like everyone is having fun with all of the flowers identified and those that aren't. I try to plant flowers that the humming birds will like and keep visiting. I have tried the feeders, but honestly I would rather plant flowers for them instead. I'm not diligent enough to clean the feeders as often as they suggest. We do have a pond , so there is water available for drinking. The birds use it a a birdbath too I have alot of flowers I can identify and a few that I don't remember.....lol I'll have to match them up with a picture..... I originally had everything tagged when planted, but.....that was in the beginning f spring abd thing have been moved around......lol the castor bean plant is pretty interesting..... [img][/img] most of my flowers are getting big.....now I'm waiting til they bloom, some of them I'm really glad I planted in a big garden, otherwise they would be too big for my flowerbeds...... [img][/img] my cosmos seem to take their good sweet time to bloom...... kratz7

Castor bean plants are supposed to help keep moles and voles out of your garden. Good to plant around a veggie garden. Deer dont like them so good for a back or side border to keep bambi out too.

They are are problem to start...After I got some started last february, they are still only an inch tall.........Heavens they must take long. I dont know how to pick them either.................The ones I have,( seeds) were from swapping....... Now what is the pink flower with a butterfly on it ? Very nice looking. barb
