I bought 4 tomatoe planters in spring and planted them in the ground, 3 of them have wilted and gone dry but I have one left.I watered them well every day but the last one left is still not doing very well, it is barely growing , what can I do? Is it the soil? It looks a little bit too sandy for me, but I thought since I used pot soil around the roots that will help them a lot. I need advice, I don't want to lose the last tomatoe plant I have.

Mine arent growing very fast either. It has, mostly, been unseasonably cool here. I know they like hotter weather. Try a little fertilizer. Cow manure, or fish emulsion if your organic.

Thank you for the quick reply. I actually used manure when I plowed the soil before making the "trails" for the new plants but I guess it wasn't enough. And yes, it has been ruther cold, cloudy and rainy , they probably need more sun. I will try to add some fertiliser. I guess I shouldn't stop including tomatoes in my grocery list, it's going to be quite a while until I will bite into my own tomatoes...
