I picked 62 cherry toms off my four container plants today! And there's at least that many more to pick tomorrow and many, many more after that! Been feeding them Algoflash Tomato food in liquid form about every third or fourth watering. Here's the pics:

Your pictures remind me of what I had last year. It was one bumper crop of tomatoes. I had planted the same tomatoes too.

This year I'm trying a larger beef steak type of tomato in containers in my greenhouse. So we'll see what will happen, so far so good.

This is what I have.

Today's count was 83 cherry tomatoes picked! Still got many many on the plants! Anybody got any tips for preserving them in any way? Or great recipes? I'm stuffed from eating them raw- can't eat that many!

Well my "count" is well over 400 cherry toms from these four plants! And for the record, I've never cut or plucked a sapper off of any plant. All I did to make this extraordinary harvest was feed the plants liquid plant food about every third watering, and keep them watered properly. They are in containers and I've had a ball raising them. The experience has been worth the trouble and I've loved every minute of it. As I'm writing this, I'm making some fresh tomato pasta sauce with the excess cherry toms and some fresh basil of several variaties I grew from seed. My garden has been my source of stress relief this spring/summer.

Hey way to go keylimegal, thumbup

I didn't snap anything off my cherry tomatoes last year either and they grew just like yours are growing this year. clap

I'm doing big beef steak type tomatoes in containers in my greenhouse and there are tons of sappers, so I've been busy but the plants are doing just great. I have some tomatoes getting real close to a tennis ball size.

I'm begging people to take my cherry tomatoes home.
So far my sister has picked three brown bags of huge cherries. And there are dozens of green ones still coming.
I hope to have the same luck with next year's beefsteaks.
I'm not planting anything more this year.

Some use for your Cherry Toms- Bruscetta! Its an Italian treat. Use some Italian bread or bread machine made bread (general white bread set on darker crust or medium crust) Slice about 1/2 inch thick, and grill the piece of bread until they toast (Not burned!) Take the cherry toms squeeze out the guts onto the bread or chop them whole in a processor, and spread it over the bread. Add a dash of salt, dried orgeno, and drizzle with virgin olive oil. Finally some chopped fresh Italian Basil on top, and you have some good eating. Another use which is easy it to slice them in half, and dehydrate them fully in a dehydrator. Youll have more sun dried tomatos than you can imagine. They keep a longtime in doubled freezer bags. You soak them in olive oil to plump them, you can grind the into tomato powder for soups, or other uses, or use in stews that call for cherry toms- theyplump back up when you cook them in liquid!
