I was outside potting up the many plants I bought on sale today, when Slinky walked by and up the deck stairs for his dinner. I mentioned to Don that Slinky was walking by him. Our neighbor, Dick, was in the pond with Don helping him move some very heavy rocks for the waterfall (see my update on the pond?).

Dick said very plainly that he found a dead cat under his front bushes early last summer. Right away my heart stopped. YEP... it was a black and white cat! tears boohoo tears It just HAD to be Fraidy - it was the exact time that Fraidy stopped coming around...

For those of you who weren't around here last summer, Fraidy was a feral very scared cat, but would come and eat on our deck every day, for about 4 years - it wasn't until she got pregnant last summer for the first time, that she let me pet her, and kept me company while I gardened and even rubbed up against my legs. She wanted to come inside to have her babies but I couldn't let her, what with our 3 strictly indoor cats - couldn't risk any diseases that she might have been carrying... I've regretted that ever since.

While it's so VERY sad, and I'm having a good cry about her now, at least we finally have closure about her.

We miss and love you Fraidy!

We're thinking that she just couldn't handle the birth -
Dick said he never saw any kittens around, and neither did we. boohoo

Geez.. I am very sorry to hear that. I am sitting here with tears in my eyes.. cause I am such a sucker for any animal and I have lost several, so I know how you are feeling. kissie

At least she got to know that she could trust and love/be loved by humans. You gave her a great gift.

How very sad!! My heart goes out to you, Lynne. Like Penny said, at least Fraidy had someone who loved her.
