I have been pricing them online and they are sooo freaking expensive.. I mean hundreds of dollars. tears

I need one if I am going to move ahead with one of my new gardening ideas..

Do you have any suggestions as to where to find one cheaper? OR do you have an idea of what I could use in it's place?

My other thread regarding this project is in the Landscapes Trials and Triumphs if you are reading this and are completely lost. lol

Thanks for all your help in advance!! wavy

Besides their actual cost a problem with online is their weight to ship them! shock Look at your specialty garden centers.
I once ised 2 substantial logs and a shutter for a bench. Sounds shanty town but it was cute.

Do you have a Zellers store? They have them there.

Jeff made two garden seats for me - he used ordinary building stones and the caps we had left over from when the contractors built retaining walls.

It worked out quite nicely - maybe you could look around where people have been doing renovations - ask the contractors if they've got spare ones.

Ok.. I have never heard of Zeller's.. so I would say no we do not have one around here.... we do have a garden center north of us, that I might be able to find something at.. I have never been there, but I fear it is pricey.. which isn't good. lol

Um, I considered using two old sandstone foundation blocks, set them up on end and put some type of top/bench on it.. and I suppose I am not totally opposed to something wooden.. as it would be much cheaper.. but for some reason, when I first had the image of the completed project in my head, the bench was stone.. sooo why

Carly, could you post a picture of your garden seats.. I am not quite sure I know what you mean. Thanks!! wavy

Gee, Zellers is like a Wal-mart type store. They are on sale right now for $67 plus tax.

Gee you could make that with a few bags of cement and wood frames. Build the frames, pour and set.
