What do you guys reccomend to stake them with? I have three Hollyhock plants, one of them is almost 100% horizontal! It seems to have happened overnight, too! (I planted them this year, so I didn't think they'd get as tall as they have, or even bloom this year)

Our dollar store sells green bamboo stakes(pack of 6 for $1), they are thick and about 4 ft tall, can you get any of those where you are?

my Hollyhocks are alot smaller this year than last year, last year they were between 5-7feet, this year so far 3feet, im just now gettin buds.

i never staked mine, they seem to hold themselfs up on their own, maybe thats cause their with other taller plants?

I actually found some good wire stakes at a grocery/misc. store that's similar to a super WalMart (Fred Meyer) that were $1.29 each. I bought 8 of them and used them to stake the Hollyhocks, some tomato plants and some glads.

My Hollyhocks are only about 3-4 feet tall too, sibyl. It must be the strange weather (we've had hot and cold weather this year).
