We just got a call from the NICU. Maddie had a really bad episode and they dont' know if she asperated on saliva or if she had a seizure. They had to bag her to get her to start breathing again. They are calling in more specialists to see her , they are getting her to the trauma unit to do a scan of her head, they are also going to do an EEG...or an EKG....or an E something G. We're leaving right now to go to the hospital...we'll probably stay down there for a couple days. We just don't know what to expect right now. Please say prayers...we're really really scared. Will try to keep you posted as much we can.
We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart? The other heart was given to another for us to find.
OMG Jenn!! I just this very minute saw your toplc and quick went to it.
So sorry to hear the news---will be thinking & praying hard for little Maddie and all of you constantly. I wish there was something else I could do----

Praying for little Maddie, and both off you, I've been down this road myself, so I know what you are going through. Only pray once, because God hears you the first time, and he's in control. Thinking off you all
Ok....things are MUCH better now. When we got to the hospital, Stephen dropped me off at the door and when I got to the NICU, they were just taking Maddie to get the CAT scan. So, I went down to radiology with them. Stephen finally found us and they let us stay in the room with Maddie when they were doing the scan. We talked to the Neonatologist when we got back from the scan. The scan came back normal...no significant bleeds, no sign of brain damage due to lack of oxygen, no sign of stroke. All of the tests from the past week or so came back showing no sign of bacteria, virus, inflammation.....nothing. They put her on a seizure medicine yesterday just in case and it pretty much knocked her out. She was put on the CPAP machine just to give some positive air pressure to her lungs. We decided to come back home last night because Stephen's brother got married yesterday and we left soo quickly that we missed the wedding. Anyways, she was doing MUCH better when we left. This morning we called to see how she is doing...she's doing alot better. They are weaning her off of the CPAP and may start her feedings tonight or tomorrow. We don't know if they are going to continue the seizure medicine or not...we'll find out today when we talk to the doctor. So, that's where we're at right now. We are debating about staying down there for a couple days and we'll make our decision when we go down this afternoon.
Thanks for all of your prayers. They are soo appreciated. Will continue to keep you posted.
