I saw this out in our horse pasture.. it is very pretty. I picked one, and actually pulled it up by the root. The leaves are very 'ferny' looking.. I didn't get a very good pic of the stem.. It is very fragrant.. almost has a 'familiar' smell, kind of medicinal maybe, but I can't place it. Even the stem and leaves smell good.

Thank you very much!! kissie I didn't know what it was.. and to me it looks more like a flower than a weed. neener I wonder if I could move some to my perennial garden?? Do you think it would do well?

Yep, yarrow! I believe that every part of this plant is medicinal but don't quote me. You can take root divisions or just move the whole plant. seeds also, but like most seeds, they won't grow true (I think)

Helping the world one seed at a time

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Mary Ann LaPensee

That is most definitely yarrow.
