I have a Wisteria vine new this spring that is growing pretty rapidly. About a week ago the unfolding new leaves started going away progressively. I have only noticed one insect on it and thats a black bug about 1/8" long and shaped toothpick like with a hard shell. The new leaves have a dusty white color to them and older leaves on the plant appear unaffected. The new leaf part becomes desicated and disappears first but ultimately the leaf stemlets also disappear. The plant is on a trellis about a foot from a cedar fence and the ground is covered with beauty bark. I am trying a bug killer slash fungicide trying to cover all the bases. Any advice is appreciated as I thought Wisterias are pretty bullet proof. Thanking you in advance for time spent sitting at your proverbial knee.
