Thanks for starting a new one, Kenny!
And thanks for continuing here, Wrennie!

(I feel like I've been rhyming all day - Penny, Wrennie, Kenny!!!)

Yep, Wrennie - that small one looks just like mine - aren't they cute?

I have a really LARGE one too, but can't find a pic of him - will have to do that tomorrow.

Ok - here's Mr. BIG Toad!
A friend gave him to me a few years ago for my "toad" garden - he's huge!
And I just noticed the heart shaped wart under his left eye (on right side of picture) - cute!!!

[Linked Image]

Looks like it was from the same mold as yours, Wrennie - does yours have the heart too?

An iron butterfly that I've had for years but never found quite the right thing to put in it. These are glass balls that I get at Christmas Tree Shops - they are in jute hangers - 3 sizes in each - for $3.99. A steal compared to what glass balls cost at beach areas!!! thumbup

(It's hard to see what is the real frame verses the shadows - tough picture to take!)

Very nice. I broke my gazing ball today, I picked it up to wash it and it slipped and fell. I've got to learn to leave things alone.

Very cute castle and dragon, Christy!
Great frog, iheart (what IS your name please?), I hope you are able to fix it!

I thought I'd share some garden whimsey in my parents' gardens.
Both my parents were golf NUTS! They lived and breathed GOLF in everything they did, until recently when they got too old, and my mom has Parkinson's now. She is 80 and my dad is 84.

My dad has collected golfballs FOREVER, and has made MANY things with them - a coffeetable, lampshades, clocks, etc - I will get pictures of those next time I'm there. Last year he decided to make some birdhouses! touched why rolz As you can tell... golf is NOT my thing! But I do give him credit for being VERY creative! I just wish he'd stop trying to give me one for my gardens! lol kissie

This birdhouse is on a pole in the rock garden:
[Linked Image]

This one is hanging from a tree by the front door:

And this birdfeeder is on a pole by the garage:

I love those houses! It would be kind of neat to try spraypainting one of them a cool coral blue or fuschia, very eclectic!

I'd love to order one, as my mom is a golf nut too! She tapes golf on TV so she doesn't miss the PGA when she is out gardening. Talk about: touched

(hee hee)

Hi Sarah! wavy

You have NOOOOOOOOOOOO idea how HEAVY those birdhouses are!!! shock
I thought the poor tree would come down when he hung it there!!! rolz

He has given his clocks to local banks, and can't find enough people to give them away to - it gives him something to do at this point in his life, you know?

I think it would look cool being painted another color - great idea!
But I'm sure my dad wouldn't care for that - he prides himself on showing the logos on the balls! :list:

Angelblossom, I will have to take your advice and half bury my whimsey and retire it from sprinkler duty. The feet were broken in too many pieces (so sad).

Oh well, I have my eye on an interesting piece of art I found on craigslist.com, what do you think of it? I am still more partial to frogs though.

Oh, I just love the whimsey's here. The golf ball projects are very creative.

(No - I'm not into golf - just thinking about it makes me hot)

The frogs remind me of seeing African frogs on the nature channel the other night - they were as big as dinner plates.
