These are my lillys.100 days of blooms...so the bag claims. They are going on their 3rd year. The tire is 16 inches tall.I'd like to grow something else in with them so will have something in-between blooms, but don't want something that will take over either.
Also.whens a good time to divide some of the lillys.I try to set the bulbils in another spot, but some of these set seed....I've not done well getting those& then I added some formosa seeds this year to the tire.

Those are whats bloomed so far(missing closeup of the white in april)besides the ones scattered throughout the yard(lollypop/stargazer/triupher/easter lillys ect) I've also thought of finding another tire and starting another lilly tire bed.i'd thought of white cleome, but mines not very tall& looking at them right now....I'd not see the bloom over the tire.addy(neighbor) thinks BES would look nice, though I'm thinking would fill the tire in 3-4 years. The spot gets afternoon sun.morning shade till about10ish,but gets a bit of filtered shade after 4.the soil there is clay with some compost mixed in but still hard soil.draineage is fine...it runs downhill(maybe why the seedlings seem to grow on one side of tire...the downhill side.)I've tried looking at others lilly beds and see what they grow. It's not helped me much, but has made me want a long bed of them.

It doesn't look like you have much room to add anything in there. I would say you could add a small amount of something that blooms earlier than the lilies. Something spring blooming- I can't say exactly for Texas.
I did a custom search and it recommended primrose, pulmonaria, viola, potentilla neumanianna. There have to be some annuals too that would work.
I like this. It is soldout right now though. The colors would match.

This is neat.I've never heard of it before.

From reading the cleome gets 4 ft tall....so guess it starts blooming at 6-8 inches.Nicotina sylvestris looks nice& would smell at night.I'm still sorting through an annuals list in swallowtail seeds.looked at trailing petunias...then couldn't decide a color.Red butterfly weed sounds nice, but sold out.I like chinese houses.

here is another suggestion for-get-me-nots, I was going through my seeds and the back of the package says these are great in bulb beds.

I ordered some chinese houses because they have shallow roots and are suppose to do well in bulb beds but none of them ever came up. Very disappointing.

Oh, those are so pretty. I don't have many lilies yet. You certainly make me want to buy more.

The bags Walmart has now are 75 days of bloom, but they also have a pink/white shades bag and one other bag.My 100 days bag tag say we're grown by Dutch bulb company.

My forget me nots seeds didn't grow, but neither did my blue bedder sage(and IT was a store bought pack!)I still like the Armeria, but wonder if it was cut back after blooming if would rebloom?

My triumphter(got in the watercan bulb gardens from walmart)one of the stems broke, but it is forming bulbils....so dumped a shovel of compost on it.but that still leaves me 5 bulbs growing, but thinking we're in can too long so may just bloom next year...but happy with bulbils....they'll grow up!I can't get the spelling right to locate a picture...but its pink!and pretty!

Even some petunias would look good around the lilies.
