I will be cutting my catnip today and drying the seeds.This one is white blooming with lil purple dots on flower.By cutting it back(now) it will rebloom.It can tolerate drought once it is established.I have a plant in another spot of the yard...that the catterpillars striped bare.I only noticed it cause did not smell the plant(when the sun shines on it can smell the plant)I use a tomato cage to keep my cat from destroying plant.watch where your cat is if rake in fall around your plant.My MIL cat Indo will play with a sock balled up with the leaves in it,but when dried. so cats DO differ.

WOW! I've been growing catnip for a couple of years now and I guess I never let it get that big. I really didn't know that it seeded at that stage either. That is sooooo cool. do you hang yours to dry? or give it to the cats fresh? My kitties are only interested for a few minutes if it's fresh, and they really prefer store bought catnip over mine. Maybe I'm not growing it long enough? I did have a really big one last month but the neighborhood cats went crazy on it, and there was absolutly nothing left! when you have the time, I'd love to be enlightened about it! Thank You, Sherri
