I bought a new set of windchimes to hang, also a few iron hangers for flower baskets and a new mini hummingbird feeder.

I haven't done anything new in my garden, still trying to keep the present one going with our little kittens running through it all the time. nervous

Guess I'll just live with it this year or so my daughter says I must..."kittens will be kittens" she said. My thought was "oh ya, you didn't do all the work out there to just sit back and watch those little teasers having fun in it" but what else can I do. why

Tamara get yourself a skunk trap from your local hardware store. It works great, if anything else gets in you can let it out. We've had our share of skunk problems the last two years and this year we got the trap, what a relief that was.

excelsior foxgloves are just starting to bloom! I've waited two years to see foxgloves in my garden (I'm so excited) I think they're the most beautiful flowers ever, but what an ordeal to get them established! after starting them indoors last spring and watching 95% of them die off since then there is still a little patch of about 8 plants that are just now beginning to flower, I'll get pics in the next few days as they beging the show.....I hope the establish themselves and grow every year. anyone else have luck with the larger foxgloves? any advise?[Linked Image]

I have some self seeded wave petunias comming up in the containers. Of course there is zero room for them in there this year. And talk about hating to be transplanted. Out of three one has managed to survive and it is a white. I'd hoped that it would be one of the purples. I'll wait until the others get larger and then see about transplanting them. They seem to recover better if they are larger.

I had a wave petunia self seed in a crack between my patio pavers, I didn't have the heart to pull it out, but all the other weedies in the cracks were murdered with my bottle of Roundup!
(hee hee)

I bought a pretty day lily (I'm a fan of daylilies). It's called Guardian Angel, with 4" near white flowers, it stands a little over two feet tall. Its so pretty.

I am in such hot water!! I'm confessing to a plant buying binge! Generally, my husband just gives me the look. That turned into the look plus the head wag. THEN he got verbal! "Don't you think you've bought enough plants?", and the ever popular, "I hope we have enough money left in the bank." Uh, "no" and "yes", respectfully.

Publix grocery store had small pots at $1.00 each!!! Peace, dracena, rubber plant, ivy, palm...heck I can wait for them to grow larger for a buck a piece. I went back twice more and bought several for two of my sons when we went up to FSU to celebrate a birthday. Three lovely cannas at a privately owned roadside plant place. I have got to stop! For a while, at least. The rains are here, and the wretched mosquitos! I humbly suggest the world could do without mosquitos...and roaches.

Julianne, get them in the ground have them double in size, split them, then sell them at your next yard sale for $1.50 each, and take your DH out to dinner with your profits!

sometimes not having a car is a blessing like when all the stores have plants for sale.

Since I stay home I'm not tempted. Of course the catalogs probably make up for it and more.

fortunately our seed exchange stops things from getting completely out of hand.

Ah, wonderful suggestion! I like how your mind works.

I love the idea of saving plant from abandoned home sites, but we don't have too many of those; however, my husband has brought home roadside freebies growing in the ditches.

On the way home from work I was thinking about putting an ad in the local paper: Good Home for Unwanted Plants, Will Dig for Free. Problem is, I'm not really keen on sweating my entire backside off trying to dig up a massive 20 year old thing that fights back. :~D

probably not what you were expecting......WHAT'S NEW IN MY GARDEN? a box turtle in my pond this morning! why we have finally had some good soaking rains the past 3 days, and today i went out to see how things are and WOW, he was just swimming around, but i don't think it was on purpose! i scooped him up, played with him awhile, then put him in my flower bed.
maybe he will hang around----- clap
maybe i will run into him occasionally---- why
maybe all my flowers will be gone but he won't be---- nervous

it was neat anyway!
