Hello all.

My grape vines are actually producing this year...but as I was out in the yard the other day, I noticed that on the north side of the plot, some of the leaves have a powdery grey substance on them. I want to say it looks like a fungus of some sort, but since I am not a grape grower, I would not know for sure. Does anyone know, and if so, is there a way to treat it. I forgot to snap a picture, but if you need a visual, I can snap one this evening when I get home. The grapes are white (or green..lol..depending on who you ask)...

Thanks

Curious Nick

Could it be mold? Are they in a less sunny area?

I've heard of it before, it's called Botrytis(hope I spelled it right). I've heard it can be good for wine making but damaging to the plant. That's all I know, hope someone can give you more info.

Wrennie,

They actually get plenty of sunlight, but the vine is huge..lol So some of the 'layers' (?) underneath are not getting as much sun as the upper layers..and it's inside that the mold is visible.

The leaves are not rotting...it's just like a grey powder. If I hose it, it will kinda wash off...

Look up powdery mildew and see if that looks like it.
