Can anyone tell me how long I need to chill these if I don't want to wait until fall to plant them? Thankyou in advance for the information.

I can understand why you had trouble finding the info.I HAD trouble too. That page seemed missing in my Stokes catalog. The web site was unaviable to me.so I logged off.Melda says cover seeds lightly germinates at 65-70 degrees do a sandwhich baggie or food container should germinate in 15-20 days. Moist meduim. I've grown this before,I hated admiting to Melda I killed her plant. It has a insignificent pinkish flower....which I removed.I've used the leaves as a bandaide before, because when she gave me the plant she said durring the civil war they used as bandages& to stop blood flow.I like the color of the leaves, guess I'd never get to grow more cause didn't care for the flower.I grew it in my shade bed.

Thanks njoynit,

I think I'll try some here near the air conditioner after I stratify the seeds for about a month. Then I'll see what happens. The rest of the house is to warm and I can't afford to turn the a/c up anymore than it already is.

I might be able to send you some small divisions if I remember tomorrow morning. I'm too lazy to dig right now...the ones my neighbours have are blooming right now

yes, the leaves are antiseptic

Helping the world one seed at a time

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Mary Ann LaPensee

Hey Kennyso, Thankyou for the offer but that isn't necessary. I have soooooo many seeds to choose from that if this doesn't work I can try something else. I'm basically trying to use up my seeds so they don't go bad. That is if they haven't already. It seems like many of the seeds I saved were the kinds that need to be sown fresh.
