My next door neighbor has a huge honeysuckle plant. She said I was welcome to take as many cuttings as I would like. I cut a bunch last night, and I trimmed them down, took the leaves off a few nodes and put them in water.
Has anyone done cuttings like this? How well do they work? Should I go and
spring for rooting hormone? How long does it take to get a plant that's ready to be put into the ground? Is the rooting hormone a better way to go than the water?
Thanks! I am a little excited about it, and if it works, I'll go to my father-in-law's and get some cuttings of a trumpeter vine. He's got several that are beautiful. I also have a co-worker who has a pink lemonade variety, and I'd love to get some cuttings from hers, too.
