My... where? Oh I see! yp. You should see all the babies popping up where i buried the stems. May not be any room for the flowers later on. lol I was thinking of adding lobelia, but as the wandering jew/purple heart fills out there definitely wont be room.
I have a big pot outside my door too. W.J and 2 cosmos in it. They have buds I'll get a pic when it blooms. I display stuff in there.

I saw a Wj in an old wrought iron cooking pot in a yard the other day and it looked gorgeous in it!! even tho I toss a lot of it out I just may put some in an old pot I have thats empty !! I can't wait to see everything when it fills in!!!

And see in the planters on the side of the building, when i planted it there i buried a good bit of stem with multiple 'joints' (where the leaves had been attatched)I figured for a good root system. Well, there are little plants popping up where the 'joints' are under the soil! grin Whats the correct term for those joints? why

A close up of whatever this guy is called in the window boxes.

the joints are called leaf nodes and that is where most plants send off babies.

YEp Jiffy's right especially on this plant!! This is why I constantly have to pull it up ~it spreads like crazy everywhere you break off and put soil on top of the break you'll get new leaves I have to dig down deep and wide to lift an entire area of root or I'll just have more if I break off at dirt level. I saw a flat of Wj at the nursery for 20$ I can't believe they sell it here cuz it's just everywhere in everyones yard LOL. I hope this winters over for you Wrennie!!! The second flower I'm not sure what it is,, It looks like the leaves are fuzzy? At first I thought it was a dew plant but dew plant leaves are thick like a succulent.

NODES! I knew I knew it, just couldn't bring it up from my brain archives! Thanks. Phew.
The close up ones leaves are flat and yes a bit fuzzy. I thought they may be a celosia relative cause of the flowers 'texture'.

Your flower is Globe Amaranthus - Scientific Name: Gomphrena globosa

Great pictures - it's fun knowing just where these flowers are!!!
Can't wait to go up in a few weeks and see the new store, etc!

Ya know I had that in the back of my mind but remembered the globe am.s having a lighter color leaf or something. I guess just a different cultivar. Thanks Lynne!
