I would like to know if anyone has any really good Wrap and/or Pita Pocket recipes that would appeal to both children and adults? I would like the majority of the ingredients to be fairly common and easy to find in the stores and nothing too spicey-hot. I think it would be fun to be able to lay out the fillings and let my guests build their own.

Any suggestions?

Build your own is a good thing Merme. Start with salad things, lettuce, tomatoes (not too juicy), sprouts. Add cheeses (shredded) and a couple types of beans. Put out cubed or pulled chicken. Put a couple of salad dressings on the table and maybe a salsa and/or hot sauce. These all work cold if you like or the meat and beans can be heated.

Hello; Here in Michigan"in my area" we have a Mr Pita
sandwitch shop and some of the things I like are. blt pita,
taco fixen pita, veggy pita. most have your lettice, small
cubed tomatoes and onions, really just about anything that
could make a sandwitch, they even have a peanut butter and
jelly pita for the little squirts. I've even used scrampled
eggs and baken with a little onion and made a breakfast
pita. by the way pita bread and wrap are one healthy bread.
they are low in fat, well you get my drift.

Goodluck with the pitas'

Ham/Cheese/Asparagus Wraps

Deli Ham, thin sliced
Swiss Cheese, thin sliced, long and narrow type
Fresh Asparagus Spears
1 Jar Sweet Onion Relish
1 large container whipped cream cheese
1 red bell pepper, sliced paper thin
1 container young mixed greens
Flatbread Wraps, plain or original variety

Wash and spin dry greens. Drain sweet onion mix, reserving juice. If relish has large pieces of onion chop smaller and stir into whipped cream cheese. Thin mix with juice to desired consistency.

Steam asparagus just till tender. Plunge spears in cold water to stop cooking. Drain on paper towel.

Make a pile of lettuce leaves, roll and cut roll into lettuce ribbons.

Spread a layer of cream cheese/onion mixture over wrap.
Working on long side of wrap place a single layer of ham across wrap. Add two slices cheese along bottom edge. Place three asparagus spears on cheese, do log style with two spears on bottom and one on top. Add red pepper strips and lettuce ribbons. Roll over one time. fold in one end and finish wrapping. Might need a bit more cream cheese mix to hold seam shut. Can slice on an angle into 4 pieces or serve whole. Serve seperately any remaining creamed mixture or reserved relish liquid as a dipping sauce.

I make BLAT wraps and everyone loves them.
It's pretty easy. Just cook up some bacon, layer it onto some tortillas with some lettuce, tomato, and avocado slices (omit whatever someone doesn't like) and squeeze some ranch dressing over all, add a little shredded cheddar cheese.

Quick, easy, and mostly mess-free.

Okay, here is my other question:

We have discovered that while a wrap made of Pita holds up well with moist ingredients, the wraps made of Lavash bread go all doughy or gummy. Someone said frying helps the Lavash maintain its consistency, but wouldn't it turn too crisp to roll?
