Is it a good idea to keep seeds for the next year? I wont be using all the seeds i have bought. if it is advisable, what is the best way to store them?

thank you
- I learned i can also swap them here. which does no sound bad at all.

i've learned that storing seeds requires that they be where they won't stay wet, so i put mine in a paper envelope, and i have the in a plastic shoe box, that the lid doesn't fit tight. so they are protected, but not totally sealed.

Dry, not too hot(like in an attic, they'll cook)not too cold (like a freezer). I have mine in the paper envelopes they came in, other mail type envelopes, little ziplock bags, film canisters, in a cardboard box.
The yard long beans i planted this year are 2 or 3 year old seeds, spinach about 5 years old, tomatoes 3-4 years old, morning glories 4 years. Thay all sprouted fine.
