I have found that something is making holes in the leaves of several of my plants(S-berries, bush beans, and several flowers) Anyone have any idea what it may be?

Also-the lower leaves of my tomatoes have been turning together. I don't know quite how to describe it. They aren't shriveling(yet).

Thanks for your help w/either of these problems.

As for the holes in the leaves.. . have no idea. Spray some diazinon around the flowers, but its your personal preference about your fruit/vegies.

And for the Tom leaves curling, mine do this for the past 2 years now that i've been gardening. . and has no apparent effect on fruit/plant health that I can see. Just be careful not to overwater. . they dont curl due to lack of water that i've seen. . . they'll wilt for that. Be VERY frugal about watering habits i can tell u from firsthand experience last year. . . I watered every day cuz it was upper 80's & 90's almost all week long for a good stretch of the summer. I wound up with split tomatos and it sucked :( But lesson learned. . this year i'm watering so far every 3 days and plants seem healthy as can be!!

GL & Keep us posted!!!

I saw this morning that there are orange, delicate looking bugs on the tomatoes. I think they are aphids. I'm not sure how to get rid of them- any suggestions. I think there is stuff you can spray on them, but I don't have the time to run and get some right now. Thanks!

-actually I have a better word to describe what the 'mater leaves are doing- curling!

-I went out and hosed off the bugs- We'll see if that fixes them-

some people use a mild soap + water solution & spray on their plants. . . claiming that this isnt chemical based pesticides. . . its all matter of opinion. Do what you feel. . To be honest, i had aphids last year, and they didnt affect my tomatoes at all. . it was a matter of a week or so and they moved right out of my garden.

I've used baby shampoo and water to spray roses before, it worked.

Speaking of aphids, I noticed that the roses at WM were absolutely thick with aphids along the canes.
I got out of there fast-didn't want to carry away any with me and sure as heck wasn't going to buy any kind of plants. Sheesh !
