does anyone have flowers on their bell peppers yet? I don't have a one. And I'm wondering if that is because of the Bacterial Leaf Spot or if it is just to early or if there is some other cause. I do get terribly impatient.

I have a bunch, on all my peppers [golden bell, green bell, hot wax] ... but the plants themselves are small.. As long as the plants can support the fruit, I'll have a large abundunce in the next few weeks!

I think its still a tad to early. Ive have lots of blooms on my hot peppers, but they were started very early, and had been growing in the greenhouse. Maybe the weather has been too warm as well. peppers tend to need warm days and cool nights to set flowering (ideal is 70's during day- 50's at night). Too much heat and they can drop there blooms or not set any. Bloom booster (high phosphate fertilizers) do work, but I would use it after the plant gets bulked up. I tend to use fertilzers thats a little higher in Nitrogen earlier in the season, until the plants estabilish in size, then switch over to high phosphate. Also a note on the bacterial leaf spots- alot of times that can be born from your seeds! Some people make a mild bleach solution to treat there seeds, before they plant/germinate there seeds. You may want to try another brand of seeds next season. Also practice some garden sanitation at the end of the season- get rid of your old dead pepper plants, and fallen fruits- dont mulch/turn them under.

My peppers are completely out of control this year. The bell peppers, while still (in my opinion) are too small have started bursting with flowers and even trying to make peppers. I had been picking them off, but I decided to just let them go while I was away this weekend. The hot peppers....well I have already (just today!) picked 2 full grown cayenne peppers from my patch. It seems waaaay early, but those guys grow fast!

DeepCreekLake has a point, but if you are patient, in the fall when the weather gets cooler at night your pepper plants will likley bear fruit then, if they do not this summer. I have had this happen many times over the years. Good Luck!!

I have my very first bell pepper flower woohoo. The rain last night and the thunder always seems to perk up the garden.

My bell pepper plants are still growing and no flowers so far. Last year they bloomed late as well, if you have nice warm where long into the fall they'll do just fine.
