I got this aloe from work. It looks like it's been badly neglected for some time now but some of it is still green and the leaves are still firm. Please tell I can save this plant if I give it some TLC and repot it. I don't have much experience with succulents so any advice you can give me would be much appreciated.

It actually looks to be in good shape Cheryl. You can divide it and repot if you like. They are actually quite tough. Keep it on the dry side (let it dry almost completely between waterings). A regular potting mix with sand added is a good thing for fast drainage.

I actually have some cacti/ succulent soil mix left over from when I repotted my christmas cactus so I was going to use that. I just need to get a pot, I don't have any extras anymore, they all have plants in them. I don't think I want to divide it, it's really tiny. That pot is only 3 inches I think.

I really thought it was like a six inch pot. Yes, they don't mind being crowded at all. But you do need a deeper pot for them/it. Your mix should be good. And it will wait on the pot until you get around to it. Like I said, tough plant.
