This is new. My salvia at my place of worship (the flower bed I take care of) has bugs on it. I have never had them there or at home. They look like smaller potato bugs with stripes. They are eating the salvia and it is getting foamy places and brown spots. I sprayed today with Pyola but it was raining all day so I need to do it again. Has anyone seen these bugs and has anyone had problems with perennial salvia before?

Evidently no one has had bugs on salvia before. Well the pyola seems to have controlled these mystery bugs- some sort of stripey beetle.

Hi there! What pert of MN are you from? I live in St. Cloud. I too have noticed some foamy spots on my dogwood bushes. Are they right at the nodes? I actually posted aboutit and people told me it's a 'spittle bug' that produces the foam. Gross. Glad to hear you found a solution.
