I know very little about gardening but am enjoying learning. I'm sure i planted this from seed but i can't help but think it looks weed-like???

Any advice much appreciated...

do you remember what seeds you planted in that area?

i see a few buds there...maybe a pic after it blooms would help to id it. the leaves look familiar to me - as in for a plant, not a weed. i can't put a name to it tho.

Thanks Joclyn, it's actually starting to flower some more now. Showing potential of flowering nicely too. Might it be Garden Phlox??

plant or weed!!!??
Well... What's the difference? Do you like it? A rose by anyother name and all that... Most of what's in my garden someone else would pull out and plant something not native to my area. I like asters, daisies, brown-eyed-susans, salsify, the self-seeded cone flowers, buttercups, road-side day lillies, ..., and I'm featuring a poke weed this year. It's more amazing than the 9 foot goldenrod were last year. The naturalized violets and ferns are also beautiful. IMHO, if you like it, grow it, if not, compost it. And don't worry about labels.

May God bless the WHOLE world!
