I'm not exactly sure how or why but George died last night. The girls and I cried and stayed up too late to clean out the cage for Chloe. This evening we are going to have a little burial for him.
Thanks everyone. We still have not buried him, we were too busy yesterday evening and will be again tonight. Hopefully we can have our burial tomorrow. George is currently in a tupperware coffin in the freezer awaiting burial. Makes me sad because whenever I have to open the freezer I see him and am reminded of his loss and how much we liked him. I will post of pic of his gravestone once we get it made. I was thinking of letting the kids either paint a rock or make a stepping stone and burying him under the garden. They liked that idea, so where do I get stepping stone kits?
Cheryl, I am so sorry about George. What a beautiful snake he is. I LOVE ball pythons, my first snake was a ball python named Baby, they are such gentle, sweet creatures. And I have seen the memory stepping stone kits at Walmart, in the gardening section.
I don't live anywhere near a walmart but there is a Joann's near my house. I'll check there this weekend. I'll try to make it out to Michaels if Joann's doesn't have anything. Thanks for the suggestions.
if not, get a bag of quick-crete and a couple of disposable cake pans.
grease the cake pans well, mix up the quick-crete and pour in the pans. press whatevers on top or carve wording with a plastic fork that has most of the tines broken off.
or, after you grease the pans, arrange what you want on top, and then spoon the quick-crete in over it. this makes the things stay in better, but is harder to control the placement of the items.
