whew, that time i did it right,

is it too big? i forgot to edit it

anyway, it is a faery with little flowers on her hand and a wand in the other. a small bird perched on a shell over the opening on the wood and other trinkets on it.

i have made a large piece to set on the floor or a porch, but the picture just makes it look like a tree stump rspb
i am sooo proud of that one, just can't show it off.

i cheated on that fairy, it was some i already had. tomorrow i will start making my own. i went to hobby lobby today and bought some copper and some mesh, so mine will be a little different.

with my bigger pieces, i will have a little story with each piece to tell about it.

Very nice Wendy. I love rustic-styled decorating.

Can't wait to see more of your work.

faerydancer,

How do you cut that out? Is it easy?
How do you paint it?
Your living up to your name.

yes, it is pretty easy, i found thin copper sheeting in a roll at hobby lobby that cuts very easy, then i burn it with a propane torch to make it change colors.

sorry about the pic egad
i am learning as i go, but this copper sheeting is very thin and i got a tool to cut it with that is like extremely sharp scissors that has a spring in it so the handle pops back out.

i took the copper fairies i had already had and used them for a pattern, so you can probably use anything for a pattern. then, you can get small propane torches in the hardware dept. at walmart rspb for about $12. i take my little fairies outside and lay them on the concrete and lightly hit them with the torch. LESSON 1....if you leave the flame in one area for too long, they turn black! nono

then, decorate them with beads OR crystals OR moss.....

like a said, i am learning as i go :/ ;)

sorry, i forgot i started this thread.... blush

i have been getting it at HOBBY LOBBY....over in the aisle with stained glass supplies.....they have thick copper pieces-good for doing punched metal stuff-and the thinner copper that comes rolled up in a plastic tube----it is $11.99.

it cuts VERY easy!

still trying to get some good pics of other pieces i have made....maybe i will try to take some outside in a natural setting.....then it may look like something....

:/

I went to Micheals.NO dice.
A c Moore ?????? It is a ways off....But I will ask my friend she goes there.
That sounded like a fun thing to make the metal designs.......

Someone was telling me how to make a red white & blue ball decoration with the glass stones from the dollar store....I am thinking of messing with that..
Yesterday I painted my concrete Alligator and some stepping stones.......I will have to post a photo for laughs......I had the alligator for about 5 years and it was peeling.. ha ha sun burn..

I better shut up.

:list:

They were taking old bowling balls or the balls you put in the yard, on a pedestral.......
Put that sticky stuff on them, and add the glass stones from the dollar stores.
One made it for 4th of july.........Not sure my man would like me doing an outside job......Only thing I am allowed in the yard is flowers and my Lil Willys............No more he says.....

Ha ha Willy has a way of sneaking into my Yard..ha ha
One for the book......I have ma an pa willy fishing and they broke the pole.. Falling apart now.. Had them for years.

thanks, like i said i am improving as i go! i have made a big, gorgeous piece with 2 lights hidden inside and clear quartz crystals in it. it is really nice if i do say so myself---now, looking at these little signs, they seem kind of silly! blush

still have not tried taking pics of these in a natural setting, but i will! i can't wait for you to see that lighted piece!
