This morning I discovered this in a pot that I have dinnerplate hibiscus in. Shrimp colored.

I decided to discard this mess and smashed a few.

I'm a little concerned here. Can anyone figure out?

Hi Shirley,
Hmm, mushroom growth. This stuff is nasty. shock

JunieGirl, I wouldn't want to even transport this stuff. nervous

littlelizard,
I too thought they may be snail eggs. I did a little research a while back regarding the eggs and I read snail eggs are white and oval. These are round and shrimp color.
Snakes? nervous shock nervous I've not seen a snake in my yard ever. Holy s@@t.

Others? nervous

Stephanie, we get stuff like that out in our yard a lot. DH says it is just a fungus. Ours get up to the size of a softball and are filled with the second most gross slime I've ever seen, your slime having stolen first place from it. Ours are usually an orange-brown and if you just let them sit, the slime hardens inside and isn't as gross. DH loves to play with them.

Penny, I know! I put that gook out in the trash and awaiting garbage pick up in the am. nervous

Jessica,
It is sooo , or was sooo disgusting. I'm sorry I grossed you and everyone out, I just wanted and needed to know what I had there in that pot. nervous

Sarah,
I'm going with what DH says and I'll just forget about it from here. Hmmm, fungus. shock Wow, softball size. You really made me laugh lol lol lol "Ours gets up to the size of a softball and are filled with the second most grossest slime I've ever seen, your slime having stolen firest place from it". lol lol lol
Maybe you can take a pic of your fungus and post here.

Tonya, I'm going with what Jessica thinks, unless someone can come up with something else?

Others?

A fungus was my forst thought. Eggs would be a more uniform size I think.

Zuzu, you always hit the nail on the head! clap That's it! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Guess what people? Yesterday I saw two or so more in the same pot. Then, this morning, they have disappeared. Go figure. I'm really glad I found out what that is. Thanks so much! Should I discard of it when I see it?
