Is it okay? Will it hurt them? My mom ordered too much mulch so I am thinking about using some of the extra. Thanks!

I mulch around everything including my raspberries, strawberries and black berries.

I think it is a good idea. For 20+ years I mulched around my blacberries. I also mulched much of my vegetable garden. It keeps the weeds down & holds in the moisture. Give it a try--if you find you do not like it, you can remove it.

I don't add weed fabric, just the mulch. you want those suckers to come up and multiply.
