My silver lace vine is puny and doesn't bloom. I'm in north central NJ. The vine is planted in a semi shady back yard on a fence. The soil is acidic and rocky. There is woods on the other side of the fence. I planted it 4-5 years ago. It hasn't grown much, just a few spindly branches. The leaves are sometimes yellowish. I've tried fertilizing, adding lime, but nothing seems to make any difference.

Everything I read about silver lace vine says it tolerates poor soil, grows amazingly fast and blooms the first year it is planted. This description is so far from my experience I can't help wondering what I'm doing wrong.

Any advice?
