I pulled up my onions, what there was of them. I can't grow onions for some reason. Next year I am going to try something different. I am going to mulch the bed first, and then poke holes in the mulch and plant the onions very shallow in the ground.
I also planted carrots, and tilled just a bit.
I also picked the rest of my califlower today.
One OS to rule them, one OS to find them: One OS to bring them all and in the darkness bind them in the Land of Redmond where the shadows lie.
pat my daughter would be in heaven right now! she loves cauliflower, i planted seeds so far nothing, well see
i didnt get hardly a dag gone thing done this weekend, been busy, i did clean out the lil pond, did some watering. gotta big to do list, and cant seem to get anything done, yep! im wining!
Well I got out there and cut down about 4 square feet of brush whew what a job. Then I added the brush to the pile of old limbs that I put across the spot people walk through. That should make it hazardous enough that those that are doing it will either brake bones falling down on it or they will walk around. I can hope at least. Then I swept up the parkinglot infront of the retaining wall where all the leaves and stuff were accumulating. I still have a bunch of weeding to do before the peppers get large enough to transplant but It's a start anyway. I have a place for the last hosta anyway.
I might go out this evening and water but that's about the extent of what will get done today. It's really hot out there. I'm wringing wet and I wasn't out there more than an hour.
We just planted our garden this weekend, kinda late, but better late than never right?!? It consists of: Artichokes, yellow squash, radishes, turnips, cuc's, tomatoes, bell peppers, jalapeno peppers, banana peppers, watermelon, and green beans. Now if I can keep the birds out of there! Do scarecrows really work?
I weeded another section of the burm today. I'm so pleased with myself. Before to long I'll have that whole stretch done and I can start planting things on it. I'm thinking of the peppermint for one. I don't know what else. But I'll think of something.
And I got the early morning watering done. There won't be any afternoon watering because I'm going to visit a friend for the evening.

I'd love to plant some beans and cucumbers in the garden, but I can barely walk in it it's so wet. With a heavy rain we have to wait nearly 3 days before we can walk or work in our garden.
But the sun is shining and it was beautiful today.
Kindness is a language the deaf can hear and the blind can see.
Maybe you should do something like a little run of pond making one part of the area much lower than the rest or building up the rest and leaving one area lower so all the water will run to that area. And then you could put bog plants in that area. That would help with the drainage.
For me I got out and watered already this morning. That's a big plus for me.
Rosepetal, we had bad rains also this past week. You can see where it made trenches by the side of the road. My ground is still wet from it. I need to cut my grass(more like dandelions ) but it isn't drying out well.

I planted my pepper plants today, and some rubarb and some fancy zinnias........ I still have bulbs to go and more seeds .......an anything else that comes by..
I managed to get the watering done. I doubt I'll be out there today. I heard it was going to get up in the 90's. There is no way I'm leaving the airconditioner during those temperatures.
We don't name them, don't want to make pets out of the future burgers.
Well, I planted my two rose bushes. I'll just cover them if there is a chance of frost. Also weeded under the bird feeder. Those seeds grow quicker than the ones you want to plant and grow.

What seeds grow from the birdseed? Someone did say flowers. We sold one of our feeders a about 5 weeks ago, to a friend. And it refused to eat or run and play......he didn't know why....Said it just lay on the ground and put its head out like a dog an pouted........ SO he called and said it was Lonely, bring 2 more over......SO we did . And soon as it seen the other 2 , It just jumped into the air and its ears went up and and off it went......... The man an my husband was so suprised......Never did we have that happpen before.

Well, yesterday and today I spent hours and hours cutting out sod from around bushes and trees and putting mulch down. DH said he likes the look of it and I should do it to all of them.
Well, over 30 finished and another 30 or more to go I have got to learn not to listen to that man at times.

I don't know how the title of this string got changed but I have asked the hostesses to change it back. I couldn't figure out what was going on either.
Today I got out and turned about 1/2 of my compost pile. Now I have to wait until the angel cake is frozen and then finish the Petit fors for a baby shower we're having this evening.
Wish me luck. We started this process last night but my friend didn't read the directions thoroughly and let the frosing get to hot. I hope we can get the hardened frosting out of her good pot. If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them. Actually I should post that somewhere else.
I don't know how I'm going to do it but I also have to find time to weed the bed that I want to put the sunflowers in. They are getting a bit big for their little containers.
