Sometimes ya' see sumptin' dat just blows you away. A couple of weeks ago, at a horse pasture a mile from my house, I took a picture of cooperation in obtaining food, from entirely DIFFERENT species of birds that have nearly IDENTICAL diets, habit preferrence, and hunting methods. They were working together AS A TEAM to help themselves and each other catch enough insects to eat. An Eastern Kingbird and a male Eastern bluebird
were taking turns flushing insects from the deep grass. In addition, a Northern Mockingbird, (not in this picture) made up the third member of the team. It was a classic case of Easts meet North. They did NOT squabble among themselves and appeared to actually ENJOY each others' company.
