Hello, everyone!
Need you help and good thoughts...

I have a question regarding Calla Lilies. Three times I've tried to grow them in a pot and all three times I have failed: when I replant them into ceramic container, after a week or two the stems of leaves and flowers began to fell apart and I discovered that bulbs were rotten. I bought a new blooming plant, plant it in bigger container with new potting soil and... same thing happened. I bought a larger plant, put it in new large container with new potting soil and just noticed that the stems near the bulb began to rotten... I have read that the soil should be moist most of the time, but now I afraid to water it and I try to keep it just a barely most and somewhat dry on the surface... What did I do wrong? The containers were outside in sunny location with the day temperature about 75-80 F...

Is your drainage sufficient? I have calla lilies in my front garden. They started in a big pot. -They weren't anything special. Usually everything I buy at Walmart dies. But now, 2 years later, they are gigantic and healthy. I did put them in the ground last year though. They survived the winter out there also. But usually, when I hear rotten bulbs, I think too much water/poor drainage.

One of my Dahlia's tuber rotted from water. I left them in the ground throughout the winter also. I never dig anything up, if it can't survive through my gardening style, it wasn't meant to be! flwr Hope all turns out ok!!
