that might be hens-chicks. sempervivum.
could also be in the graptopetalum family, too.
i hate it when they don't tell you anything other than 'succulent'!! there are so many and some do have different requirements.

I have many of them I plant them in large snail shells.They are called Echeveria.

thanks guys! just to add...it is blooming when i bought it, one yellow flower open and a few buds close to opening!

Kenny, I had a plant that looked exactly like what you posted and you said it had a yellow flower on it don't laugh but mine had a label and it was called "Sedum Burrito Giant" and it has yellow and orange flowers. It grows proficiently. I found the soil liked to get somewhat dry and then took a good drink. I enjoyed mine until a baseball game broke out in my living room. ughhhhhhhhh. Boys got to love them. Enjy your new plant. Life is short....Just Breathe
