I am new and glad to be here. I have a question.

I have a local nursery that sells trailing plants in 5 gallon buckets. They are so beautiful. I want to do this for myself. They were using petunias and the guy said they have 5 plants per bucket.

Do any of you have any other ideas on what kind of annuals I could use? I would like to do one with the petunias and one with something else.

Thanks for letting me be here.

You can get great results from combining two or three different types of plant (e.g. Lobelia, fuschia, busy lizzies, pansies, pelagoniums, ivy geraniums, etc) or different colours of the same plant.

If you have the space, its also fun to try colourful fruit (e.g., strawberries, peppers or tumbling tomatoes) - you get nice displays and something to eat too!

And dont forget - you will need to be careful about making sure they are properly fed and watered (you can get special water-retaining compost for plants grown in containers).

Thank you for your ideas. They are really great.

I never thought about the fruit. That is a great idea.

Thanks again

Welcome to our POD, mypethaley............

Trailing baskets, browneyed daisy vines......Nasturtium, morning glorys, most vines can grow in a hanging basket......

However you must be able to watch them for drying out.
