My veggie garden has pink caspian, mexico midget, adelia, brandywine, heartland, and ace 55 tomatoes. It also has california wonder and big chili peppers, bush sugar baby watermelon, jack o'lantern pumpkin, and about a gazillion boston pickling cukes for the trellis. My melons are as follows: persian small, honey rock, and hale's best, also green machine melon, casaba honey dew (if it ever sprouts), cilantro, celery. I have some flowers in there too, for pollination, including (but not limited too) marigolds, nasturtiums, candytufts, a sunflower, zinnias, coneflowers, catnip, basil, and gaillardia. And I think that's everything.

Nope just Cow poop and rain!!!

I added about 4" of cow poop last fall.
I have an unending supply. The guy has 3 or 4 tractor trailer loads, most of it is years old, and most of it has hay mixed with it.

when you start your garden depends on what growing zone you are located in. I think Bill has a map of the zones on the website somewhere.

It also depends on what you are growing. For example my white radishes like to be put in the ground two weeks before the last frost date for my area. While tomatoes shouldn't be put outside until two weeks after the last frost date for my area. While Garlic should be planted in the fall since it needs a cold period to create cloves.

I'm doing square foot gardening this year, so I have quite a list of things I'm trying:

Bell pepper (Bell Boy x 2)
Onions (Red Baron x 9 & a white one x 9)
Iceberg Lettuce (x4)
Beetroot (x16)
Savoy Cabbage (x4)
Romano Cauliflower (x4)
Sprouting Broccoli (x2)
Wild Rocket (x4 as catch crop with Broccoli)
Peas (Feltham First x 8 & Sugar Snap x8)
French Beans (Purple Queen x 8)
Tomatoes (x2 -- if they survive, see topic in Tomato forum :-(
Plus french marigold for toms.

all the above in a 6 x 4 foot box!

I also have 12 sweetcorn plants, with 2 courgette (zucchini) plants inter-planted.

And I've got 2 cucumber plants, and a few cut-and-come-again lettuce plants too :-)

It's been quite a busy spring dealing with all those seedlings! Bearing in mind I only have 2 small windowsills to germinate on :-)

I'm also doing SFG this year. I have sugar snap peas, arugula, spinach, bush beans, Danver's carrots, Lady Bell green peppers, an assortment of hot peppers, swiss chard, broccoli, green ice, buttercrunch and romaine lettuce, 4 tomato plants (Big Mama, 4th of July, Burger and Health kick) along with basil and rosemary.

Unfortunately my melons and cucumbers bit the dust early. It was down to 35 here Tuesday night and I think that did them in.

Pictures to follow in a couple of weeks.
