It really looks like a petunia! But I don't know. Hopefully somebody will come along that knows for sure!

Wow it does look petunia-ish.

It's not a balloon flower is it?

Hard for me to see the leaves good..........

My first impression was also petunia. It wouldn't be unusual for petunias to come up in a different area than you planted them, because they are annuals, and what probably happened was the seeds got scattered.

I don't know for sure, but it does look like a petunia. I plant those in my planters.

I never knew any that got tall.I'll snap a picture closer up tomorrow. She also thought she got the seeds from stephine on here after the house fire.

yeah funny you mention re seeding.she had a red petunia re seed in her yard....and don't grow them...but I have a RED one.lol its in the dogs area.
Actually the purple flowers are smaller than petunia. I'll have to check for seeds....that should help some....
I've had one of the teachers ask me from school about about a perienial petunia.she says it will even bloom in winter mostly comes in purple shades/blends.Her mom in nachadoces(<SP) grew some when when she was little.so is P to zone 7?ever heard of?My guess was ruellia, but she said no.

I love the sweet scents wafting in the breeze. I stop to admire the vibrant colors of all living things. And people think me odd. Then ODD I am!!!

Definitely petunia. Last year after Hurricane Katrina, these same massive fields were growing everywhere. This year they came back. I have them growing all over the place. I will have to get pics.
