I was going through some pics I saved to my files and came across this one - not sure where I got it, from a magazine on-line or from somebodys pictures from here, or where. Anyone know what this is? Does it look like it's planted on the top of this?

This is a Mandevilla vine. That is a very nice picture. It does look like it is planted on top but I think it is most likely planted under it. flwr

Mandevillas are climbing vines.
There is another mandevilla with scored leaves called, I think, Mandevilla du Pont.

Hi ND farm girl,
Well, you made Bill's cover on this one huh? lol Actually, that's my pic from last year and yes, it is a Mandevilla. I have it planted in a pot below the fountain and trellised upwards! It did make it thru the winter and I noticed it has a few buds. Will be blooming soon. flwr I'll get some updated (2007) pics out soon to ya'll.

Thanks Patty, I'll get an updated pic of my Mandevilla after it blooms. flwr I am thrilled that I managed to save this plant. But truthfully we had maybe one freeze this past winter. We did have cold weather though and I enjoyed that, that's a little unusual for New Orleans. We actually had a cool spring as well.

I just bought a mandevilla the other day! I will have to bring mine in over the winter though. They sure are pretty!
