I had no idea it would grow like this. I guess I thought about cactus and how slow growing those are and expected the epi to be the same.

I have 7 new leaves one that is the barrel shaped type and two of the new leaves have new leaves on them.

I haven't used any plantfood or anything although there may have been some in the potting soil that I mixed with the cactus soil and the orchid soil. But it shouldn't have been much.

Do you think that's what has it growing like wildfire?

could be. or it could just be the changes in the weather.

that rubber plant i posted about...i gave it a good watering and it still looked sickly...i've had the windows open the past few days (it's been consistantly warm, finally) and i was looking at it last night when i watered it...it's perked up and it's got some new growth starting.

That's fantastic. I'm glad to hear that.
