I enjoy making jewelry. I expecially like to work with wire wrapping. These are my 2 newest works. Both are pendants.
This one uses a sea shell that I had for some time. I had to drill it to insert the wire.

This one is my most recent. I used an undrilled bead that my hubby found on the ground in front of a store. He figured I could use it for something.

I have recently started selling my work, but I won't get into that here. I don't want to break any rules. I like it here too much.

Very nice. I don't have the patience to do these things. But I can appreciate the work that went into them.

Very pretty, Might have a great business on your hands there.
There is a lady about 20 minutes from here that does work along the same lines. She uses hollow gold wire, is it the same? I always wanted to know why hollow is used instead of full.

Thanks Dodge. I look forward to seeing your work. Have you ever visited the Delphi Wire Jewelry Forum? It is one of my favorite places. I learned a lot there.

Thank you. Yes, sometimes it does require patience. Like the one I'm working on now. I got the wire base finished and for some reason the wire broke, right in the middle of the base. I have to start over again. But it did teach me a valuable lesson.

Thank you. As to your question, did she say she was using rolled wire? The wire that is used in wire wrapping is not hollow. Rolled wire is the same as gold filled wire. It is a much better quality than plated which has a very thin gold plating on it. The gold filled cost a lot less than staight gold, but has the same quality and durablilty as the straight gold. It is gold laid over a base metal and will last forever. Hope that answered your question.

Sherome, those are beautiful. I would love to learn how to do that--I really enjoy tedious, time consuming activities (like gardening lol). I'm a perfectionist (a lazy one), and would just love to do that over and over until it's perfect and beautiful. I've got small children, so it would probably take me a week just to find the time to sit down, get organized, and get started--and by then someone would be hungry/tired/fussy/in trouble/etc. Your pendants are so pretty!

Sherome, the wire in her pieces are 14 kt hollow wire.Just wonedered if you used hollow as well. I must ask her why. Maybe it's cheaper that way..

I have never heard of hollow wire. I haven't seen it at any of my wire sources. When you ask her about it, ask her where she gets it and if it tends to break easier or if it is as strong as the rolled or filled wire. I'm curious now.

Okay, dumb question (forgive the pun) but what makes that a polish bracelet? It's quite lovely...

Very pretty. I love flowers in jewelry. Do you have a web site where you display your work? Also, have you ever checked out the Delphi Wire Jewelry Forum? It's a great place for learning and interacting with other jewelry makers.

I just got my first catalog from Delphi
I never knew there was a forum there,
is this the same one you're talking about..??"

Anyways, Welcome Aboard!!

And love your wrapped bracelet..
You are leaps and bounds ahead of me in that dept.

No it isn't. I didn't even know about that site. What I'm talking about is a forum site that hosts so many. They don't have a good gardening forum though. This one here is very unique. This is the link to the jewelry forum that I belong. You would not believe how much I have learned since I joined them. And the support is wonderful. You'll have to pop in. http://forums.delphiforums.com/wirejewelry/start
