One of the Kiwi's didn't do good last year, I am hoping it is ok this year.

I'd like that Triss!!!

Okay this is my next project!! I have a little corner of my yard with elephants . What I got at a yardsale last summer was this lamp base I've already given it several coats of clearcoat inside and out,, Annnd I have a basin for it to sit in But Here's the problem.. What I need is a solar cable/pump fountain kit.. I can thread the pump hose up thru the lamp and out of the top the top hole is not very big maybe 1/2" in diam. so what ever I get the fountain head would have to be affixed on the top of the lamp . Nowww I just need to get a solarpump that's low in cost and that's not easy to find.

Hmmm, I was thinking floating solar pump and I know where they are for $19.99

But you need one that has a long cord to go up thru the vase with an attached solar panel....

This seems like one of the best ones I could find and it has a pic of an urn thing they used like your vase.

solar pump

Might be worth saving up for? Not sure if you can do snail mail though, maybe you could email them or call them......

Here is the first pic. It's from before I laid all the new soil and planted everything but after I took out all the grass. This whole area used to be dead grass.

This is the top of the stairs where the walkway starts, also where the brick starts.

The rest of the walkway, where I put in all the bricks.

The bricks around the tree.

The other side of the tree

This was taken at almost the same spot as the first pic so you can see the difference from before and after. It doesn't seem like much but it was a lot of work for me.

It's nice to see it all growing now, with some willy decorations too, instead of just a brown patch of earth. I'm thinking of getting into container gardening to border the back of the garden with.

[Linked Image]

i dont like how the tiers are bare, so i thought about getting baskets to fit them in or makin concrete molds to set them in, and the top one needs trimed down, the pump i got aint strong enough yo get the water up there,
im also thinking about taking some of the logs out from the front and just usein rocks.

I like it Christy! as far as the bar tiers you could possibley burr out some nooks and plant sedum or shallow root plants in the nooks to bring the tiers to life.. I also like the logs in front it looksrustic like that I think you've got a good layout there Dangggggg I wish I had more land to work with!

thanks,
yep triss it came with the pump, and i got the tiers for 5 buck in the same ltd catalog. i think the pump is more of a sprinkler fountain kind, to see it going i take out the water hose and stick it in the top tier, lol i have water running out the pond but its fun to watch it go,
diane i thought about puttin plants around the tiers too, maybe iget a big basket or somthing i can fill in the area between the tiers ans basket,

Well I lucked up again, a friend of mine called me and said her neighbor moved several days earlier and left a concret fountain ( just the middle and top and Did I want it~~ maybe I could do something with it??? I gave it a look see brought it home and mannn those seperate pieces were Heaaaaaaavy!!! I painted the top and made a couple of homes for my teeny tiny willys and planted flowers in it stacked one piece on top of the other , and wedged a flat rock between the fountain planter and the rock tower so the Willys can cross over the flat rock and won't have to walk so far to work.. I think they'll be happy in their new home!!!

Fountain in two pieces ~~~ UGLYYYYYY!!

Middle section I used as the base
[Linked Image]

Top of fountain,, We couldn't find the Bottom base "Think maybe someone took it>>???
[Linked Image]

After the top got a new face lift
[Linked Image]

continues..,

continued,,

After introducing the teeny tiny willies to their new home we all decided to plant flowers around their home I wanted them to be very happy with their new surrounding!

They sure settled in fast!!!!!
[Linked Image]

Big Willy with the lantern is standing on the flat rock that I wedged between the Willy's new home and the Rock tower and it fits perfect!! A great path for going to the rock tower,, Right Now Big Willy is watching over home and Work making sure all is safe and doing their part to help our garden grow,, ALtho I did see where One is napping~ Guess I over worked Him!!!

Over all view...

Thanks Triss and Christy,, It really didn't take long at all, The paint was drying almost as fast as I was painting it grin I'd say the time involved was only about 1 and 1/2 hours including planting.. I'm going to try to get sedum to grow in the nooks of the base I'm not sure the 'Nooks are deep enough to hold soil But I'm still going to try it! :lala:
