I am trying to find the name of this plant. Here's a picture of the main portion of a mature plant. The central portion of the plant is five-sided and at the angles are covered with fuzz. This tapers down to soil level where it looks like a typical tree branch. The leaves emerge directly from the top then are pushed to the sides of the pentagonal in a spiral. The seeds are produced in pods that form around the bases of the upper leaf stems. The leaves (including stems) are about one foot long. The sap is milky.

This is a picture of a younger plant.
