I rose. But there is no shining..inside or out. It is over cast today but at least it is not snowing again. Good morning!

Well, here we need some snow...before the extreme freezing temps hit. It has been a strange Winter so far, it snows then melts or rains and everything is covered in ice. I just scraped up as much snow as I could to bank around the house....it took me over two hours just to gather the snow.

Lovely here today. Cold but sunny. Little to no wind. I love this type of weather. Our temps are rising this week which may mean we're in for severe weather as in tornados. Got my hair cut today for the first time in 2 months. My person had a baby and is only working 2 days a week and really doesn't want to cut hair any more at all and my hair shows it. Gapped up a bit here and there. I hate looking for a new hair person. My hair is thick and wavy and is not easy to cut straight.  I'm working all day tomorrow. First time in a few week and I'm not looking forward to it. You guys post a lot tomorrow so if I have time to get on here I'll have something to read.

Bestofour, that is why I learned to cut my own hair. I was tired of coming home from a paid cut having to re-cut it myself. I hope the weather does not turn severe for you.
Today is a clean and mop day....there are tree needles everywhere.

Good luck finding all the needles, Sunny. Do not work too hard though.
The sun is out and the temps are above freezing. I sure hope that it melts some of the snow...at least off of the roads.

The roads are a mess here but I have no where to go. I am catching up on laundry...I swear it multiplies in the hamper.

Rod and I were talking about laundry. If we go nowhere and do not do much, so do not change our clothes every day..and there are just 2 of us, just where does all the laundry come from?

Another overcast day here.
It snowed only about 4 inches but I am leaving it sit because we are supposed to get melting temps tomorrow....I do not need a sheet of ice in my driveway. What a strange Winter it has been, the weather of 2022 was certainly unpredictable.

The weather guy here says he has been here 9 years of and in that time, we have had weather in like we have been having lately. I thought with this being further south the weather would be warmer. I do remember before the kids arrived. Valarie & her DH had to spend the night at her inlaws because of the weather...so I guess this type of weather does happen this far south.

Juniegirl, how much further south are you?
It was very warm here yesterday and today. No coat kind of weather. I think rain is supposed to be coming in.
I've almost got the Christmas stuff ready to put up. I figured I needed to do it while the children are out of school so I can call them to help me.
Tomorrow is the last farmers market until April. Not sure from where I'm gonna get my eggs.

I lived in Worden Illinois for many many years. It is about 45 minutes NE of St Louis. I Now live about 15/20 minutes south of Cape Girardeau, MO. So I am now about 2-1/2 hours SW of where I used to live. Basically the same hardiness zone as home but my SIL does plant his garden earlier that I did at home. (Illinois will always be home. This is just where I live now.) Goodnight all. Sleep in Well.

Once upon a Time, a long time ago I built this forum so that my friends could share their thoughts, ideas, and friendly banter. Those were the good old days since then I haven't been well I lost Cedar Hill and and my websites. My hospital bills exceeded a million dollars because I spent months in coma after they brought me out I had to relearn to walk talk and breathe. Some of the members here thought that I shouldn't have sold and given away the websites but when your brain doesn't work anymore sometimes you have no choice. I apologize to anyone who thinks I let them down.. Happy New Year!

Hello everyone. It is 61*F here today...and foggy...there is a chance for us to get tornadoes and other severe weather today/tonight. Rod took me out for coffee before it got bad.....

What a surprise to see Bill here. Glad to know he's ok. And on another good note my egg man is going to meet me every other week until April so I can pick up eggs. Bought a loaf of the worst tasting bread at the farmers market on Saturday. I've tried to eat it but it's going in the trash. 66° here today and yucky.

I knew you could still get your eggs Sheri, those chickens are still going to lay....and that farmer will still need to get rid of them.  Junie, did you get a treat with that coffee? I hope the weather calms down. It is dreary looking today and everything is covered in ice. I need to make a trip locally to get a few things at the store but I'll wait until tomorrow so I can take DH's truck.

Sunny. The coffeehouse had these miniature danish things..the filling was about the size of a quarter, so not very big.. but it was good.
When you are out, Sunny, please get me some grapes and bananas would you ?

Well I can afford to buy you bananas....but not the grapes, sorry. Bananas are the only fresh fruit being bought in this household lately. I paid over $8 for a 3 pound bag of basic apples for GG last week, that is just wrong.

I heard on some talk show today that we can expect food to be 4% higher in 2023. No idea about Canada. They say 7% for us, mind you they lied saying that it was only 11% in the past year. Prices in stores jumped at least 25% and more. Canned tomatoes jumped 100%. Rise and shine. I am craving brownies the past few days, I might give in and make some today....they are my favorite sweet.

Yes about prices..as an example. A few years ago, I could buy Jiffy mix 3 for a dollar on on sale. Before the local store here closed I had to pay $1.29 for one....
