I was going to Gingers for Thanksgiving but their dads house sold, all cash, no inspection, so she's coming here today so she and Shelley can get it totally cleaned out. I was able to change my flight plans and now I'm going in December.

We've had some chilly mornings but jasmine is blooming here and I have a cone flower that just won't quit.

Happy Turkey Day gals.

Enjoy the girls being with you for a bit Bestofour, I vote a restaurant for the days meal. Junie, you and DH should do the same. thumbup

I have to wrap Christmas gifts today, GG is trying her best to 'dig' at things....I should have bought a 'gag' gift for her.

Gag gifts...yep..one year when I wanted a curio cabinet..Rod gave me a brown paper bag for Christmas. I assumed he thought it cute to put a gift certificate in it saying I should go pick out my cabinet..well no. He put a school house bird feeder in it ( I was a teacher's aide then). He laughed and laughed..I was livid as he failed to add the note saying I could go get my curio. Which it turns out he meant for me to do...

When I was young, I would search the house go thru the gifts mom had bought, before she wrapped them...gee I was rotten.

lol You naughty gal. I wasn't much to sneak for my gifts, I never got what I wanted anyway...not in a bad way though in my mother's mind. I'd ask for something simple and my mother instead would buy me some outlandish gift that I never wanted. I still am upset to this day that I never got my Lite Brite that I asked Santa for.....he brought me a television instead. I was so upset that I cried for days.

Too funny about the paper bag...not at the time though, I am sure. Have you ever gave him a 'gag' gift in turn?? DH and I have had Christmas's where we had no gifts for each other, those were the lean times....there'll be plenty more of those holidays for many with this economy.

Gifts are wrapped....and I'll hide them at my mothers if need be.

Ah yes. Your mother's house..That is a good hiding place...I should have thought of that back in the day when the kids were small.

Glad that you have your gifts wrapped. I am just finding boxes for those that need them. Emily did send me a note saying that the kids Christmas lists were on Amazon..so that is good.

Amazon? That is a great idea. That way you can send it directly there and save the shipping costs.

Yep..it is..AND Emily saves the bags one can buy for gift wrap, and she just drops my gifts into them. We neither have to pay for wrapping then..well not anymore.. once we bought them once.
I do send a few out that I wrapped here..that way it saves her some.

Yes, I cooked Thanksgiving dinner and we ate dinner here. Was a nice day and the weather was nice too. Rained over 1/2 inch during the night. We need it so I'm not complaining.

Did all the family come home with your girls Bestofour?

I can send snow if you want some moisture....we only got about 4 inches with this storm so it isn't bad, this time around.

'only" 4 inches....ok then...that to me is plenty.
But at this point moisture is moisture I guess.

Yes, the whole gang was here. Ginger won't be coming home for Christmas though. I'll go there the 13th through the 18th so I can see Colt's Christmas play and then her inlaws will show up at her house on Christmas Eve so Colt won't be here with us. I can barely stand it.

My decorating is done except for putting garland on the stair rail. I've even wrapped 2 presents!!!

I am glad that you had family for Thanksgiving but I am sorry about your Christmas plans not working out. kissie

You are ahead Bestofour. I did put up the outdoor lights so it is a start...we only go for our tree into the first week of December.

Sounds like you are moving right along, Sheri. Good for you. I have a chair and table moved out of the living room, my shelves that I keep seasonally decorated cleaned off and my doilies cleaned off. I hope to decorate today.

Then next will be going down and wrapping my grands Christmas ornaments and getting them in the mail.

Sunny, hey..that is a start.. After all we have to start somewhere

I do hope they remember it and continue the tradition, so they can put up with the same fighting that I put up with when they have kids and grands. lol

I just mopped the house, time to sit for a few while it dries.

Yes sure,I can do dishes.,after I dirty some...

The kids got to take their ornaments home tonight. Poor Nora thought her little box was her entire Christmas gift.. She even followed me down into the basement to ask when she could open her box.

This flu just will not go away..I felt good yesterday..today I feel crappy again...yet, no fever..ya gotta wonder....and yes. It is the flu..I have been tested.

We’ve had a decent amount of rain lately and the temps have been ok. I’ve wrapped a few more presents. Can’t believe it’s December 1st.

Good morning. I need to put the tree in the stand today so the kids can decorate it tomorrow. The good thing is that with this mild weather....it is not frozen.
