All fresh and new.

Junie, if the weather is nice then Bbq and sides might be a good choice.

It is a cooler day here, finally. I think we had the hottest July ever.

I joined here in August of 2003. 19 years ago!!! Doesn't seem that long.

Sunny, we had a very hot and dry July too.

Anyway, we finally got some rain and it's cooled down to 86° for the next few days.

Junie, are you having a bbq? I'll take a sandwich please.

I joined in October of 2006. Like almost 16 years ago? My how time does fly.
I wanted help with some type of fly in my house plants. It took me several months to learn this was more than a question/ answer site.

I meant BBQ meat...I am roasting chicken and I will add BBQ sauce and bake it on for a bit.

Time does fly. I wonder where many of our past members are??

I picked a large pan of yellow bush beans and I just got finished making pickled mustard pods for Winter, yum. My cucumbers are growing wonderfully as well. I didn't care for all the heat but the garden loved it. I shall have plenty of preserves hopefully. thumbup

My part time job is overwhelming me. Since the 4th I've worked 50 hours and 57 minutes. Someone's dad died and I've been helping to fill in. I'm tired.

Glad for your good/well growing garden, Sunny. The more you can put up the better I say.

Sheri. Sorry about your full time, part time job. I think on your time off you should look for an actual "part time" job.

Thanks Junie.

Bestofour, I hope it gets better for you....if not, keep looking for a different work place.

Can someone send me three days of dry weather....in a row?? I need to get hay made soon, what a crazy year. We haven't had three dry days together since the Summer started.

Junie, this is the first year that I did not have to set up the hose to water the garden. I shouldn't complain about the rain but I need to get the hay made before the end of the month or it will lose its nutrition.

Well I do agree about not complaining, but then, you DO have something to complain about. You need the hay, and I get that.

Thanks for understanding Junie....and listening to me complain again. lol

It is pouring rain out there at the moment. I picked cucumbers and beans last night in the garden....and we had our first vine ripened tomatoes. They are cherry tomatoes, (Sweet 100's).

Junie, I just made the most delicious dip.

You take one pound of ground beef, cook it until crumbly then add a large jar of salsa. Put aside. You then cream one block of cream cheese and a small tub of sour cream until blended thick. You put the ground beef mix in the bottom of a baking pan, then layer the cream cheese mixture...then sprinkle with shredded cheddar/mozzerella cheese. Cover with foil and bake in the oven for 20 minutes. You serve it with tortilla chips. I got the recipe from Carey's niece, it is delicious....and fattening. lol (You can also add taco spice to the ground beef mix when cooking it but my tummy can't take all the spice).

I've had that dip before Sunny. Haven't made it but have eaten it and I agree, it's good and like a meal instead of a dip.

We've had a rather dry season but my garden's done well. We're just now starting to get some days of nice rain instead of just a pop up thunder storm in the afternoons. I do feel for your hay situation Sunny.

As far as my job, I really don't mind working the extra hours because with my local grans in school and Darbi working at school what would I do with all my time. PLUS I get to pick what days I will work and take off when I want CUZ I'm going back to Ginger's in MS the 7th through the 16th. Colt has grandparents day (since he's in the 5th grade this is probably his last one) and Johnny and I never missed one, and I'll get to see him play in 2 ball games. Plus I found some relatively cheap plane tickets. So I'm not complaining.

I am glad things are working out Bestofour.

Junie, just a heads up....provinces here have such a shortage of 'Tylenol and Advil for kids' that it is now going to require a prescription from a doctor. Hoping it doesn't carry over to the South of us.

Good evening

Well I am glad that you get to pick when you work. That alone is worth something, Sheri
Also enjoy your time at Ginger's.

Sunny, thanks so much for the information. I really hate to think of what the next year will be like

Feel free to send the rain this way. We're surviving but some rain would definitely help.

We are getting a one day break from the rain......and it is HUMID. I have to tend the garden as soon as it dries out a bit later.

I love blueberries. And muffins for that matter.

Sunny, why is that being done to Tylenol? Seems a bit crazy.

Bestofour, I have no clue, they are just saying that there is an extreme shortage...you can't find children's fever medication anywhere here now. I have always bought ahead so my grands are o.k. but many other kids will suffer. In fact, any flu med is in short supply as well.
