My potatoes are about 1 foot high...I hope they make. I will give them more room next year. My tomatoes are doing really well as is my one pepper plant.

I ate my first garden tomato today. So good. I've already eaten a few cucumbers and have a frig full of more. Also have squash and okra to eat. Junie, my blackberries are finished already. I got one bowl full and I guess because of the heat the rest shriveled up and died.

I am so happy about your veggies, but sorry about the blackberries. At least you get some though.
I watered my berries tonight. Some are beginning to ripen. I hope the water helps mine ripen. We have had a lot of 98 and higher weather this last week or so. And little to no rain.
Enjoy your tomato.. And all the rest.

Enjoy those tomatoes Bestofour.
I planted my tomatoes in the garden but saved one to plant in a pot. The one in the pot is already twice the size of the garden ones.....I know how I am planting them next year.

Sunny. Before you make that decision, I would wait to see what kind of harvest you get. I

True...it might be all foliage and no veggies. That is why I suggested waiting. I want to see for myself what kind of harvest it I get before planning next year So far I have plenty of green as well, with the exception of one plant..That one is called "Mountain Princess"..I hope they taste good !

I hoed up the garden...everything is up now although my carrots seemed to skip in a few places. I think regular seed was better than the pellet type I used this time.

I was tickled to see blooms on the scarlet beans and the okra is doing well. Ate okra, squash, cukes, and tomatoes tonight.

The flowers on the scarlet runners are prettier than the taste of the beans.

You are very fortunate. We have had 1 inch of rain a few days ago. We have had not more than a drizzle or so for weeks. It is quite sad really. I am SO happy for you, Sheri.

Night before last we had 2 inches of rain and it's pouring today. Unfortunately all this wet stuff is causing the tomatoes to split. Thankfully we have gotten a few nice ones but if this keeps up the next ones will definitely be throw aways.

Got some okra today and cooked it and some squash for dinner and had a fresh cucumber too. My garden has done very well this year. Remember the scarlet runner beans??? The flowers are pretty but I haven't gotten one single bean.

I am glad you got the okra, squash and cucumbers out of your garden, Sheri. AND if you got pretty flowers out of your scarlet runner beans, you did get something out of the plant....so score ! I am glad your garden is doing so well.

The flowers are prettier than the taste of the beans anyway Bestofour. Of all the beans I ever grew, scarlet were the prettiest but the least favorite for eating. My garden is flourishing this year. I am ever so thankful.

I'm still getting everything from the garden but it's starting to die off. There won't be much more squash after this week. I'll miss it.

You should freeze some squash meals for the winter, Sheri. Then you can smile while you eat it when it is cold.

You're right. I should freeze some squash. A friend told me his mother canned it and would boil it in the winter add a little salt and pepper and it was great. Might try that too. Sunny, cucumbers and my yard are great friend. That's another thing I'll miss in the winter because store bought ones just aren't tasty.
