I never slept well last night either Junie...my shoulder was reminding me I worked it all day.  I cut grass for the first time this season yesterday, today I will tackle the ditches with the weed wacker.

Yes Junie, I think I need to just pace myself. I did all the weed wacking today....the first time is always the worst due to the water in the ditches being not dry yet. I am trying to get things in order outdoors while it is saying we are getting five dry days in a row.

Yes it was a beautiful day here as well. It is 78*F right now..but it is sunny, and calm, and there us a cool breeze. It is exactly MY idea of summer.

I’ve started my 2 day a week job at the children's psychiatric hospital and though it’s not a hard job the kids are violent so I may not stay. It’s sad. I had 3 days of self defense lessons but no amount of lessons is going to enable me to overcome a 200 lb 6 ft boy.

Totally agree and I’m looking. Every call back I’ve had wants full time employees and I’m not gonna do full time.

Take care of you and yourself. Oh yes, I talked to them on the phone, took their order...and made the drop off on the porch. They can pay me in a few weeks time when their 'cooties' are gone. On another note, yesterday I payed $9 a gallon for gas and $9 a gallon for milk....that is just so wrong.

I am told milk is 6 something a gallon here now. I buy half gallons, ant to be honest, I need it so I made sure NOT to look at the price. Glad you protected yourself from "the cooties".

GG is sick now, I gave her a Covid test and it was negative.....I'll give her the second one tonight.

Sorry about GG, but perhaps you shoukd wait until tomorrow to retest ??? And then as I understand it, there may be medications one can take to help with covid, once you have it..but needs to be given soon after you kniw you have it ??
(but I hope she does not have covid)

I found it, thanks. Yesterday I painted the house foundation and front step. Today I will get the white trim on all the sheds done....our Winters are terrible on exterior paint. Things are starting to bloom here as well.

I need to make Rod a banana flip cake when I get home. It calls for a yellow cake mix, but I want to use a white cake mix.
However, the boy wants me to follow the recipe.(that he found) so yellow cake it is !!

It hit 90* here today....rain for tomorrow. GG came with me to get a dress and shoes for a semi-formal dance. She got her first pair of high heels and 'big girl' dress....she'll have to practice walking in them here all week. Bills are paid, repair items picked up and the pantry/fridge is full....the bank account is not happy.

GB is coming for a visit, I am not sure if it is just for the day or overnight. It is raining again. I so want a few dry days to get out and finish some little projects that need to be completed. Once I have supplies, it gives me the urge to 'get er done.'

The rain has stopped but it is so damp and cold....I might have to give in and light the wood stove.

Can't comment on today yet....but the last few days have been warm but the humidity has been low, and there is a slight cool breeze. Very nice !

We had a frost warning for this morning....luckily we were one degree over. The western part f the province did not fair well....they hit a low 32*F.

So true, it is easy to cover up a few plants with buckets.
The mosquitoes are terrible though with all the rain. I keep forgetting to get better bug spray.

Well at least the sparrows eat insects. You can be thankful for that. I used to love watching our barn sparrows swoop thru the air eating mosquitoes and such. They were so graceful.

Bird houses..yes, I need to find a way to put up the few I have. They are ceramic though and there is no way to clean them out.

I'd love to see them Junie. It is raining today.....I guess that means I must clean up the house and bake. It is also the last day of school, GG is still sick so I'll take her to collect her things after lunch.

Well, he likes the baking but hates the sound of the vacuum. GG had to go in the school herself since she had to open her locker. No one else was allowed to open it except her. Did you make your ceramic house at ceramic classes? I seen the pic, it is so pretty and unique.

Thanks. I did not make it, ( it was made from a mold) but I did paint it. I gave it to my dad as father's day gift one year, and took it home when we were emptying my mom's house.
So sorry for GG. I bet she was happy to get back home.
I try to get Rod to do the vacuuming...........

You are too kind, Sunny...yes Sheri..the above "pear" is my ceramic bird house. I was sure I had an. "acorn" bird house somewhere..but I cannot locate it right now.

Thanks so much, Sheri. I had fun painting it, and now when I see it, it will remind me of my dad.
It finally cooled down here today. ( In the high 80's) tomorrow and Tuesday will be in the 80's then we here will be back in the 90's or more.

Bestofour, GG has a terrible night cough now.....and DH is sick. Both tested negative for Covid though.

Sorry they are both sick..but glad they have tested negative. and FYI my sister said when her family and she had covid, the rest turned positive right away..they did not have to wait the 15 minutes.or.whatever. So no need to worry about covid..if they had it, you would know for sure right away.
Just got back from the plant nursery. I only spent half of the money that Rod gave me for my birthday 🎂. I will save the rest for next year.

You only spent half? I could never do that....it's all or nothing with me at the nursery. DD called, she now has the starting of pneumonia....it is never ending around here.

GB and DD both had bronchitis from the bug they had....he is getting better(I made her make an appt for him for meds), she got worse. She should have made the apt for herself as well.

It is humid here,,,thunderstorms for this evening.
It's a holiday here Canada Day, I did my celebrating by picking berries....tame and wild. What a difference in the size.

They look SO good ! Will there be pie or jam ?? Yes, I made jam/jelly yesterday....that was just a pic of what was washed so far. By the time I was done, I had 25 cups of processed jam/jelly. We are certainly set 'strawberry wise' for Winter.
